Morrison’s Batman is such a ridiculous badass that it seems easy to overlook his mortality and the fact that he is “only human. Then a cool murder mystery with Batman and the Black glove and a meeting of the worlds superhero legion with different heroes from different countrys. As with most of Morrison’s work, there’s enough depth to demand more than a couple of re-reads, but I found myself just sitting there and asking, “Is that it? We get one storyline set across three time periods, as well as a number of epilogues which illustrate that Batman cannot die.

Grant Morrison’s run is predicated on his embracing some of Batman’s pre-Crisis history as canonical – or, at least, as being a hyper-exaggerated take on canonical tales. Pyg has a penchant for taking off his shirt, revealing his overhanging belly, and then gyrating and dancing provocatively. It only collects Morrison’s writing, but there are some explications here and there to fill the blanks.It also features gorgeous oversized art from DC's top talent like JH Williams III, Tony Daniel and Andy Kubert (SO much better than Adam). In addition to expanding the DC Universe through titles ranging from the Eisner Award-winning SEVEN SOLDIERS and ALL-STAR SUPERMAN to the reality-shattering epic of FINAL CRISIS, he has also reinvented the worlds of the Dark Knight Detective in BATMAN AND ROBIN and BATMAN, INCORPORATED and the Man of Steel in The New 52 ACTION COMICS. Quizá esto dicho así, no sea muy llamativo, pero hay que recordar que Batman tiene más de ochenta años de historia, y que ha pasado por muchas etapas. There are plenty of books out there moving at a slow pace, I don’t need Grant Morrison’s work to be among them. I really enjoyed the tail end of the RIP story, its 5 stars but the rest was very disjointed and tbh not that exciting or interesting.

Thankfully, the second half of this book happened, restoring a modicum of my faith, and making the next two of his Batman omnibus' I have sitting on my shelf a far less daunting prospect.Now collecting the entirety of this epic saga, this first of three omnibus collections introduces Batman to his son, Damian Wayne, and takes the Caped Crusader from the brink of death to the edge of madness. That’s one thing I like about Morrison’s additions to the Rogues Gallery, they are almost horror movie villains with intensely violent desires.
