It just would be a lot more exciting if it were a powerstation compatible with 2x40v, 4x18v or the backpack… still not ALL, but at least MOST of Makita’s voltage lines.I found these MillerTech inverters a while back that use Makita 18V LXT batteries as the power source. It does not have any built in charging capabilities, but can accommodate separate AC battery chargers up to the max power output wattage. I think the line about living in interesting times can certainly apply today, especially when we look at all the various battery uses today and coming. So finally for 800W load, we should get around 18minutes of run on four batteries, two will give us only 9 minutes.

This product is a lithium battery inverter, which can convert direct current into alternating current with stable output. For large car batteries it’s not something terrible (my 100Ah battery has peak current over 800A) – but it could drain it real fast, and four Makita batteries in a blink of an eye. I haven’t notice it to be a real problem – it balanced itself during longer usage and finally all batteries where evenly discharged :). This inverter allow you to use a Makita 18V battery and convert it to 110VAC up to 150 watt (initial surge up to 300 watt).

The power supply inverter for Makita 18V Li-ion Battery, Such as: BL1815 BL1820B BL1830 BL1830B BL1840 BL1840B BL1850 BL1850B BL1860 etc. The BAC01 is built into a Festool Systainer-compatible Makpac tool box, making it compatible with Makita’s other Makpack tool boxes and accessories. You can help yourself with the picture on the top, where there is everything lying on the floor and described components.

I did some testing, and Makita batteries are setup in quite destructive way – over discharge protection is set around 8V. In general it’s large and quite powerful 12V power supply, that can be extended with 12V inverter (up to you if it’s going to be 230V or 110V). Product photos show off the power station charging 2x XGT 40V Max batteries via a plugged-in dual port charger.

There’s no top handle, but maybe the power supply can be carried single-handedly with one of the side handles, at least until the PDC1200 is attached on top. As Makita does, they’ve gone about it in their typical off-beat way, but it looks like a fairly good solution. All such RMA’s may receive a complete replacement unit, replacement parts, full or a partial refund at the sole discretion of Onevan. Our battery adapter undergoes rigorous testing to meet stringent quality standards, ensuring a safe and reliable solution for expanding the compatibility of your power tools. This is probably, because they wanted to squeeze as much Wh as they could, from battery – and did not care about lifetime.
